I know it’s tempting to scan something like this and skip it because it looks like a bunch of boring shit you don’t care about. But that would be a mistake.

It’s a new year, which means it’s time for the organization, planning, and admin nobody actually enjoys. And yes, that’s what we’re doing today. But stick with me, because this is the stuff that makes this space make sense and keeps it feeling good instead of chaotic.

This has quietly become my favorite place to create, and it’s grown into something I never really expected. I know the word “community” can sound trite or a little cringe, but that’s honestly what this is now.

Just last week, I had dinner at Dōgon with some of the folks from the group trip to Portugal, that I hosted last year. We didn’t just travel together. We stayed in touch. We became friends. Now we’re sitting around a table in DC sharing bites and trading stories.

That doesn’t happen without this space.

So truly, thank you for being here and for showing up so genuinely.

Nothing dramatic. Nothing chaotic. Just thoughtful changes I believe will benefit everyone.

I’m trying to read more on paper this year as my Kindle is lovely, but it doesn’t emit blue light and after some testing I’ve found that it does indeed fuck up my sleep.

And my first paper book of 2026 was sooo good! Our Vicious Oaths by N.E. Davenport is sexy with lots of tension but also humor, strong af women who seize their destiny, and Black af.

Got me fantasizing about buff fae men who wear grills.
